Fashion Foundry is launched!

I am so excited to become part of Scotland’s Fashion Foundry, a new initiative led by Cultural Enterprise and in association with Wasps Studios, Creative Scotland and Scottish Enterprise.

Fashion Foundry is an 18 month fashion business Incubator scheme that aims to accelerate ten of Scotland’s most promising fashion designers. The initiative will provide a platform for these ten young businesses and specialist support tailored to each designer’s needs.

On Friday we had a press launch for Fashion Foundry and what a successful day it was, made by such a lovely set of people. It was great to meet the other designers and of course to meet up again with Fiona Chautard, Fashion Foundry producer and designer Deryck Walker who will be a creative mentor during the 18 months. It was also a privilege to have Cultural Secretary Fiona Hyslop there also who spent time getting to know each of us and our businesses. Finally all of the people at Cultural Enterprise really made the day go so smoothly. I felt so proud to be part of it all! 

Six of the ten designers will be moving into a gorgeous studio together, owned by Wasps Studios in The South Block in Merchant City Glasgow on Monday October 1st. Such an exciting 18 months ahead!
